Spank Protest

Spank Protest is the duo Stefanie B and Paula Temple. Stefanie B started producing electronic music after relocating to the UK from Switzerland. Spending years in her hometown’s electronic music scene, Stefanie B is influenced by underground minimal sounds as well as the bigger club tracks. In 2011 she started collaborating with Paula. Their sound is tough yet melodic, weaving in their own remixes of classic underground tracks and mainstream hits with a hint of humour. Artists like M.I.A. and The Chemical Brothers have shown you can mix anything. “There are no limits,” says Stef, “we follow no rules and experimenting really works in giving our music an edge – we don’t tailor our sounds according to a music genre.” Their DJ performances are captivating and something to be admired both technically and musically.
